Belen our “Little Songbird” is learning to “fly”!

Sisters, Belen and Marbella, came to the Nutrition Hospital in early July of 2021 – brought in by a kind neighbor whose heart broke at seeing the two little girls, born blind, suffering from lack of care as their young mother struggled to provide food for herself and her 3 little girls.

During their time with us the sweet sisters have grown, thrived and learned many hymns and choruses, blessing us all with their joyful talent for song.

After 3 years and one month with us, their family was connected with a school for the blind by Nurse Paola. Both little girls were delighted to go on this new adventure. On the first day of their new chapter in their short lives they have been thriving as they begin to learn how to use their walking canes and begin the basics of Braille.

We are grateful for Nurse Paola who found this wonderful resource to connect Belen and Marbella’s mother to. We will continue to support the family during vacation periods, and look forward to watching the talented sisters grow and learn the essential skills for their special needs.
