Our Nutritional Rehabilitation Hospital is celebrating its 40th Anniversary; Forty years during which saving and improving the lives of children suffering from malnutrition has been a primary focus.

From military tents to construction barracks, differing structures have served as our health facility for treatment and rehabilitation as well as housing. Through these humble walls have passed thousands of children on their way to improved health.

The dreamS of one couple, which started in the mid-1950's, is now into its fifth decade of service to the poor and the suffering. As the decades have passed the lives of thousands of children been saved from death, poor health, hunger and iliteracy.

The Nutrition Hospital celebrates 40 years filled with laughter and tears, of hope and loss and through it all has been the deep conviction that PAHS is doing a work that has changed the lives of the people that walk through our gates and doors daily.

Improving health in every way has been the goal of PAHS; the focus has been not only on physical health through providing nourishing food and effective medications, but also on long term health through education of the mind to improve the living conditions associated with poverty, and on spiritual health through acquainting our children and the parents who bring them for treatment with a loving, almighty God who cares for their needs by sending them the help they need on a daily basis.

Here in the words of some of our children, and former children, are a few of the improvements they have experienced thanks to the assistance of PAHS:

	I would like to share with you the great change that my life has had since I came here. Before I came here I was a person living without love, and filled with great sadness and bitterness, and I had a dream that I thought I would never be reality. But when I arrived at this place my whole life changed. I received love for the first time and the support that my own parents never offered me. One of the most beautiful things that has happened to me is that I met God here and I now recognize that without Him we are nothing. I am now living the dream that I never thought that I could fulfill which is to study and to become a professional. I am grateful to God and to the donors that support me that my dream is coming true. In this place I have a family and the love that I never had before. Being in this place is like being in a paradise. I thank God especially for allowing the existance of this place, for those who lead it and to the donors, who thanks to their help our dreams become reality.

	My life has changed since I came to this place. I started going to church and to school. The first year I started school I was very happy because I was in a Christian school. Before I came here I did not know about God. I am very happy because I have a place to sleep, food to eat and a school to learn in. I am very happy because I have friends. I am grateful to the people who are helping us to stay in this place. Thank you for helping us to have all that we need.

	Since I have been living here my life has changed. I have learned to speak better and I am going to school. I started going to church when I started living here and my communion with God has improved. I like that I have a room where I live, and I am very thankful to God and to the donors that help us.
